La Infinity

Paulo Ventura — “La Infinity City,” Italia (1968)

What else is this world
If not a big wonder!

A sight, a sigh
Deep from
And deep within

A wind
Passing the door
A flame
Kept in a window

A garden in the desert
An oasis in the sky
An eye of a storm
A drop in a lake

Snowflake, snowflake

And here comes
The magic,
A candle in ice
A surprise
Of a snowman

In symphony
With the rhythm
Of snow wolves

Howling
Haunting
Witch houses
Dreaded men
Heathen women
Of the ice;

The Aryans
The Vikings,
Church bells
Of the kingdom
Of Northumbria

Icy winds
And the lamps
Of the Indus

A furious fight
And a fusion
Voyages of the sea
Confronting storms
Capsizing at coast

A journey of North
To South
Of East
To the West

Exploring
Expanding
The treasures

Like those of Alibaba
And his forty thieves

The tales of bravery
Of wisdom and beauty

Of pearls and spices
Of saints and prophets
Of silks and perfumes

As if riding
On a wind
Taking fragrances

Of far stretched fields
To far away lands
In a state of union

A Divine Purpose
In Happening!
